Don’t You Wanna Know What I can Do?
Sean has the ability to modify the brain waves of one or more persons in or around him. By doing this, he can change the way he appears to the viewer, while in actuality, he isn’t changing at all. When he first started learning about his powers, he would have to look the same to everyone. Now, he can make himself look different to everyone. He can change for up to 7 people, but no more. He prefers to take on the face or shape of what most frightens the other, giving him the first part of his name.
He is also able shape-shift into a crow, giving him the second part to his name.
Shouldn’t You Get To Know Me First?[/i]
Sean is a rather peculiar young man. He was a very late bloomer and didn’t find out about his powers until he was nineteen years old. Unlike other mutants, he wasn’t scared about the changes, most likely due to his age. He works hard to master his powers.
He enjoys spending time with the students. Because he is a bit closer to their age and because he is new to the world of mutants, he finds it easy to connect to them and know what they are going through.
He is very ‘bookwormy’. Every wall in his office is lined with bookshelves. Some students joke that he has more books than the library *and it may be true*. He knows a little bit about everything, from cooking to fixing an airplane, from Neanderthals to aliens. He is also full of fin and seemingly random facts.
He is very passionate about English, as well as the Arts. He was into drama a bit in high school, but he preferred to be under the stage working with the pit. He has also done a little with lights. But, if given the choice, he would much rather stay locked in his study with his dusty old volumes.
Does My Past Really Matter?
Sean was born in New York, New York. His father was a journalist and his mother was a fashion designer budding on fame. As a result, neither parent was home much, so only-child Sean Rickle was left to his own devices most of the time. He learned to cook fairly well from a cook book, he learned to sew and to fix things that where broken. But he never really had a glimpse of what he wanted to do with his life until the first day of high school.
His second hour class was English Honours One. He had always been brilliant in his English classes but it wasn’t until he met Mr. Brad Tenbarge that he really realized how much he loved it. The class was difficult, but Sean easily passed all the challenges and quickly moved to the head of the class. Over the following three years, he was the brightest and best student. He spent a period both his eleventh and twelfth years T.A.ing for him.
But it wasn’t until he turned nineteen that he found out about his powers. His first college girlfriend had dumped him in public and humiliated him beyond belief. After running away and hiding behind the bleachers, he wished nothing more than to disappear. Instead, he found he had turned into a black bird. Rather than freaking out, he realized this was what he had wanted, though not exactly the same. He flew away to safety.
After about a year of research, he found out about mutants and Xavier’s school. But he realized he was too old to go back to high school, even if his powers where new. So, he made contact with this Mr. Xavier and he suggested that Sean work at the school ware he could teach English and learn to master his powers. Sean quickly accepted the deal and has trained hard and learned all he could about his abilities. When the new school opened up, Xavier suggested he go there to teach and continue his training. In fact, when he has a prep hour, he can quite often be seen sitting in on power master courses and taking his own notes.
