Appearance: Shelby is pretty tall for the average female. She stands at 5'11". Her hair is brunette with blonde streaks in it and mainly straight but there are days when it is extremely curly. Her hair normally falls gently to her shoulders but you will normally see it up in a pony tail or under a baseball cap. Her eyes are brown, some would say chocolate because of how milky they look at first glance. Her body is slim but well muscled. Very healthy. She likes to work out whenever she can.

Adantium Claws: This was a 'gift' from a government institute about ten years ago. She was not born with these there were forced into her arms during surgery while she was held captive. They are indestructible and they can cut through anything.

Shelby likes to keep to herself. Shes a bit of a loner, has been for the past 150 years. But there is nothing stopping her from hurting someone who tries and hurts the X Men. She thinks the X men as her 'herd'. She is her protector and she will do anything to keep them safe. Shelby also doesn't mind throwing out a few smart a$$ comments here and there. A fight or two wouldn't hurt either. But normally she'll stay out of that stuff and just sit back and watch. Shelby is also pretty laid back. Give her a beer any day and she'll sit in front of the TV all day and not even move.

Shelby Marie Hanson was born October 31st in 1859. Her parents were wealthy plantation owners in the south. Their names were Abigail and James Hanson. Shelby grew up on the plantation loving animals and spending all of her time with them. No one knew that she soon would turn into an animal herself. Many animals to be correct. At the age of thirteen she grew deathly ill and was kept in bed. As the days, weeks, and months past she was still sick yet she was gaining powers. First came the rapid healing. She had cut herself with a knife on accident while cooking in the kitchen. It healed. Then the animal shifting. She was running in the pasture with the horses when she too turned into a horse. Then the heightened sense of smell/hearing. Her friends were pulling a prank on her when she got them back after hearing them sneak up on her.
Traveling The World & Wars
At the age of seventeen her powers were found out and her family immediately shunned her with fear. She ran off and enlisted in the Civil War on the Confederate side. The Civil War ended with the North winning. Things settled down some and Shelby went to Australia. She moved to Europe and then China. Soon she came back to America, just in time for the Vietnam War. She was shipped across the world with thousands of men. They fought, the war ended and some people went home. Shelby went back to traveling. This time she went to South America and explored the jungles of Brazil and observed the coffee plant fields of Columbia. After being around the world she came back to America and settled down in Wyoming.
The Claws & The Future
The world became extremely aware of the mutants in the 70's. Well, the government did anyway. thanks to some snooping co works of Shelby's and their government friends she was captured and brought to a facility. She was kept there for observations. She also received one experiment that worked quite well. Adantium Claws. At first she didn't know what they could do until she heard someone say that they were indestructible and they could cut through anything. Taking that as her cue to escape, she cut through her metal cell and killed several as she escaped the institute. Years later the world became aware of the mutants. Some were friendly about it, others not so much. Now Shelby is becoming a member of the new X Men.

Blake Verona woke up at 6:30 in the morning. She took a quick shower and got dressed. She was wearing a nice white, sun dress with different colored flowers on it. She also put on a light blue pearl necklace that tied with a black ribbon in the back. Her shoes were light blue to match with the blue flowers on her dress. She wanted to look bright and sunny this morning for the people who were just waking up. She knew some would be happy so maybe if she dressed up in happy, relaxing colors she could make their morning before they started their day. Blake combed out her chocolate hair and decided to let it hang down around her shoulders. She smiled at herself in the mirror before walking into the next bedroom.
Blake gently woke up her two year old son, Jack. He looked so peaceful and cute when he was sleeping, she hated to wake him but she knew she had to. Come on Jacky. Let's get dressed and take you to see Auntie Bell. Mommas got to work today. She said, smiling. Jack stirred and soon woke up. He rubbed his eyes and got out bed. Blake dressed him in some cargo shorts and a cute little tee shirt with horses running on it. Then she pulled his socks and sneakers on. She took his hand in his as they walked toward the kitchen. Blake set him in his high chair and gave him a sippy cup with orange juice in it. Jack sipped on it and slowly began to wake up. Blake made eggs for breakfast and soon fed herself and Jack. She quickly washed the dishes and cleaned Jack's face.
She grabbed his little bag and put two sippy cups of orange juice inside, extras diapers and some toys in. Blake slung it on her shoulder and took Jack's small hand in hers and they walked out to the car. She got him strapped in his car seat before driving out of the driveway and headed to a small farm house. Once there a woman around her age greeted them and took Jack. Blake thanked her and got into her car. She drove into town and parked in the lot behind a building. It was the employees parking at the Dixie Cafe, her new job. Blake got out and slipped in through the back door. She grabbed her waitress apron and tied it behind her back. She said good morning to the manager before heading out to check on the people sitting at the tables.
